I always enjoy Easter. This year was no different. Our Easter bunny is a sneaky bunny. He likes to hide the baskets in tricky places. It's always fun to watch the kids racing around the house trying to find their loot. They all seemed to enjoy their Easter morning. Later in the day Colin, Jenny (Brett's brother and his wife), Calvin (their son), and Linda (Brett's mom) came for an Easter egg hunt and dinner. We had a nice, low key evening.

Callie is getting too big. I wish I could make time stand still and keep my kids cute and little. I guess we all have to get the point of accepting the fact that our kids are going to be cute and big.

Connor was the last one to find his basket this year. That silly bunny hid it in the corner behind the computer desk.

Ethan's basket was hidden at the back of the pantry. The Easter bunny thought it would be trickier to spot with food stacked in front of it. The Easter bunny was wrong. It was the first basket to be found.

Hannah, the family princess (note the pose), found her basket behind a chair in the living room.

I think the Easter bunny realized that Matthew is not mobile so he hid the basket under Matthew's toy bar.

Matthew loved his first Easter basket.

The hunt is ON!!

For those of you who have been to my house you may recognize the spot that Ethan and Calvin are gathering eggs as the spot where I had a huge bush/tree covered with little purple flowers. Recently Ethan and his pal decided to chop it down. I had just pruned it way back for the year so it could burst out again. To them it must have looked like a fun stick poking out of the ground. I was doing the dishes later in the day and happened to look out the window and saw that my pruned bush was splinters and nothing more! AAARGH! Ethan had the pleasure of spending the rest of that day (with his friend) weeding the planters in the back yard until it was dark. They actually did a great job weeding. When they came in I told them to go out and gather up all the weeds they pulled and put them in the garbage. They informed me that it was not necessary because they had thrown all the weeds over the back wall as they went. LOL! I told Ethan that he was going to be the one to dig out the big stump he left behind. To my surprise he actually did do it. He went out the following Monday and dug and hacked for hours. Finally, he came bursting in the back door all excited and told me to come see. I went to the door to see a large stump sitting in the middle of the grass! I was very proud of him for sticking to a very difficult task and seeing it through. I know he was proud of himself too, though I don't think he will be chopping down any more trees.
Boy, I just got really distracted...
The egg hunt continues.

You would think that Ethan found ALL the eggs. You'd be wrong though. I have a little problem with moderation when it comes to candy filled eggs. Maybe I'll work it out in therapy, maybe I won't.
