Yesterday Hannah turned 6. She was so excited for her birthday to come. She asked daily for about a month how many days until her birthday. We had a birthday party with her friends after school. Grandma Linda came over for dinner later. Hannah chose a breakfast dinner this year. We had french toast, bacon, cantaloupe, orange juice and milk for dinner. I think she had a magical day, just as it should be when you turn 6. I adore Hannah. She is a very girlie girl. She likes all things pink and sparkly. She loves to play make believe. She will often disappear into her room and shut the door. When I go to check on her I can hear her in her room having all sorts of detailed conversations with her various dolls, barbies and other toys. She loves to dress up, including make-up, thanks to her big sister. It's very rewarding to observe the relationship she has with Callie. They are 10 years apart but love spending time together. Hannah is a lucky girl to have a big sister like Callie. Hannah started first grade this year and so far enjoys it very much. I'm grateful I was blessed to have Hannah for my little girl.
HOORAY! The kids are back in school today. This year I have all the school-aged kids in class all day. I'm looking forward to having lots of fun with Matthew during the day. I'm also looking forward to the fun and challenges this new school year will bring. Callie started 11th grade. Connor is in 7th grade. Ethan is in 5th grade. Hannah is now a 1st grader! She was a little nervous last night and this morning. Happily, by the time I picked her up at the end of the day she was comfortable and all smiles again.
I testify that the restored gospel of Jesus Christ is the truth found on this earth. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet called of God and foreordained to fulfill the mission of restoring Christ's church to the earth. I am grateful to him for the strength and courage he had to do as he was commanded. I know that Jesus Christ is my only Savior. I rely on him for my strength and count on him in my weaknesses. I love him and hope to somehow live worthy enough to be able to allow him to make up the difference.
